Energy, Renewable Resources and Disposal Center (Stormarn/Lauenburg)
In Trittau, vor den Toren Hamburgs, werden seit zwei Jahrzehnten wertvolle Wertstoffe gesammelt, recycelt und als erneuerbare Rohstoffe dem Wirtschaftskreislauf und somit den Menschen in der Region wieder zurückgegeben. Seit einigen Jahren kann sich Trittau auch Energiestandort nennen, da u.a. das Bioenergiekraftwerk der AWT erneuerbare Energie für jährlich mind. 1000 Haushalte produziert.
Folgende Unternehmen sind angesiedelt oder geplant:
Bioenergiekraftwerk / Kompostwerk, Recyclinghof, Bauschuttrecyclingplatz, Bauschuttdeponie (genehmigt), Solarkraftwerk (Planungsphase)
1. Bioenergiekraftwerk/Kompostwerk
Im Bioenergiekraftwerk / Kompostwerk werden die Bioabfälle (38.000 t/a) der Kreise Stormarn und Lauenburg gesammelt und verwertet. Das aus den Bioabfällen gewonnene Biogas wird für die Erzeugung von Strom und Wärme verwendet. Biogasgärreste und kurzkompostierter Kompost werden als Dünger in der Landwirtschaft eingesetzt. Darüber hinaus wird hochwertiger Kompost produziert, der von den Bürgern in der Region im Garten verwendet werden kann.
Im Jahr speist das Bioenergiekraftwerk / Kompostwerk ca. 3 Mio kWh Strom in das öffentliche Netz und versorgt damit ca. 1.000 Haushalte mit Energie. Des Weiteren wird durch die Verstromung ca. 4 Mio. kWh Heizwärme erzeugt, die zum großen Teil von dem anliegenden Technologie- und Wirtschaftspark für die Beheizung der Gebäude eingesetzt wird.
2013 wurde dem Abfallwirtschaftszentrum Trittau (AWT) der Umweltpreis verliehen. Unternehmen erhalten diesen renommierten Preis aufgrund besonderer Impulse zum Schutz der Natur und Umwelt.
2. Recyclinghof
Der Recycling-/Wertstoffhof der AWSH (Abfallwirtschaft Südholstein) ist die Annahmestelle für folgende Wertstoffe (hier ein Auszug):

3. Bauschuttrecyclingplatz
Seit vielen Jahren recycelt die Fa. Buhck am Standort Trittau Bauschutt, der nach der Verarbeitung in unterschiedlicher Form als Wertstoff wieder an die Wirtschaft und privaten Haushalte zurückgegeben wird.
Auf dem Bauschuttrecyclingplatz werden folgende Baustoffe für Garten- und Landschaftsbau, Haus und Garten sowie Tief- und Straßenbau angeboten:
Baumgrubensubstrat, Betonkies, Brechkies, Edelsplitt, Estrichkies, Füllsand, Gartenerde, Glensanda, Holzhackschnitzel, Kies, Kompost, Mauersand, Ober-/Unterbodensubstrat, Pflanzenerde, Pflastergrand, Plattensand, verschieden Mineralgemische, Rindenmulch, Schottertragschicht, Spielsand, Zyklonsand, Wegekies

In Trittau, just at the gates of Hamburg, valuable renewable resources have been collected, recycled and returned to the economic cycle and to the people within the region for two decades. Since a couple of years, Trittau can call itself „energy location“. The Organic Energy Power Plant of the AWT provides enough renewable energy to approximately 1.000 households by feeding power into the public grid throughout the year.
The following businesses are established or planned:

1. Organic Energy Power Plant / Composting Plant
At the Organic Energy Power Plant / Composting Plant the organic waste (38.000 tonnes per annum) of the districts Stormarn and Lauenburg are collected and recycled. Electricity and heat are generated through the burning process of the fermentation gas. The fermentation residue and compost are used as an organic fertilizer in agriculture. Furthermore, high-quality compost is produced in large amounts and is used by the people and companies within the region.
Every year, the organic energy power plant is feeding approximately 3 mio kilowatt-hours electricity into the public power grid and is providing power to around 1.000 households. In addition, through the process of electricity „production“ approximately 4 mio. kilowatt-hours heat are generated. A large part of the heat is used by the adjacent Technology and Business Park to heat various buildings.
2013 the Abfallwirtschaftszentrum Trittau (AWT) received the environmental award for companies of the state Schleswig-Holstein. Corporations receive this well-respected award for providing impulses to the protection of the nature and the environment.
2. Recycling Center
The Recycling/Resources Center of the AWSH (Abfallwirtschaft Südholstein) is the delivery point for the following resources:
Private/Business Deliverer > old clothes, old medications, waste oil, asbestos cement, car/motorcycle tires and batteries, construction and demolition waste, emulsion paint, CD’s and DVD’s, roofing fabric, electrical equipment, glas, gypsum waste, glas- and mineral wool, green waste, wood, cork waste, fluorescent tubes and energy efficient lamps, paper/cardboard packaging, scrap metal, special waste, bulky waste
3. Construction Waste Recycling Site
For almost two decades, the Buhck Group has recycled construction waste at its location in Trittau. The recycled construction waste is converted into various forms of mineral secondary resources. These are provided back to the local businesses and to private individuals.
At the construction waste recycling site the following building materials are offered to gardening and landscaping companies, private individuals as well as construction companies.
Various types of gravel, gritting materials, different types of sand, garden mold, woodchip, composting material, etc.
